Is EFI supported on AMD based systems? If not, then this would be a problem, as Mac OS X currently requires it.

Really VictoriaStudent, lol I agree with BForstal on what people would do in the same situation 100 percent, and I'm not trying to brag about anything, and I cant even believe this thread has reached 3 pages. Sec I have no reason to troll!!! I have been a member of this forum since and even though I have never really posted anything I have found wealth of knowledge over the years from people in these forums. Wow and you cannot judge a person's character by a mistake a cashier made in a store!!! Like I said everybody is entitled to there own opinion, If you were to make note of the mistake to the store if it happened to you and it makes you feel so highly above any one else, more power to you. As far as I'm concerned this is one time I actually got a break on a apple product.

Seriously Apple, how soon until the app store is the only way to install apps on your mac?
If it's going to happen I hope it's soon. Photoshop CS5.5/6.0 will be out soon and I need to decide which platform will be my main one. It could go either way over the long term. My copy of PS CS3 for Windows will have to be updated to the next release in order to maintain upgrade privileges for Windows.

I suppose there could be a bit of news here for non-photographers.
As I understand it, Aperture uses OS X's built-in RAW image processing. If I remember rightly, the last Aperture update accompanied an OS X update. So it's possible 10.4.8 could be just around the corner (i.e. sometime this week?)

What happened in France will weigh heavily into the decision. Though the Consumer Council (CC) will never admit to that it still will matter. In the beginning everyone here in Norway thought that if the CC would push too hard that Apple and its subsidiary iTMS Luxembourg would pull out, but after heavy consumer discussion it all kind of mellowed out in the summer months.
I heavily doubt that the DRM demand from CC would be admitted to by Apple/iTMS. As for the legal and contractual language I am quite sure that Apple/iTMS will change this and thus comply with the most important demand from CC.
Still, the French outcome will be enormously important for all of Europe, not just France and Norway.

I know!! Last year they had the Mac Pro out before the cpu's were even announced by Intel!

Ick. This whole format war is nasty, but I guess I never understood why Apple decided to support blu-ray over HD-DVD. Seemed like they did it just to go against what Microsoft had chosen. The and the whole Steve wanting crippled hardware for another (his other) company's benefit over computer users...the whole situation stinks.
As a consumer I'm trying as hard as possible to sit this one out. :mad:

A slight reduction in pixel density doesn't mean the display suddenly becomes garbage.

I would concede that if guns are a concern of yours, it is my job to inform and prove to you that I am a responsible gun owner who keeps his guns locked up, out of the reach of children, and furthermore that in my house there are no unsupervised children (meaning that there is an adult in the house at all times who knows where the children are and what they are doing).
It is than your job to decide whether or not you will allow your kids in my house.
As parents, it is both of our jobs to get to know each others household.

Sorry to shatter your illusion, but my friend doesn't have Personal Hotspot on his iPhone because his Telco removed the feature. So how is this different and better from Android, huh? At least on Android you can still easily circumvent it without hacking or jail braking.

I can't imagine the accusations that would take place with a unisex bathroom in the united states. Lawyers would take up residence out side of the bathrooms along with a whole new array of tv commercials
But couldn't sexual harassment issues also potentially happen with lesbians in the women's bathroom or gay men in the men's bathroom? How come that is not issue?

At the Honolulu Apple Store I was able to buy a black MacBook, using govt employee discount less black friday discount, total price $1309.00. At first they were saying no double discounts, but after a bit of a stand down myself and another unrelated buyer got the deal. :)
